In addition to presenting safety workshops at STAO annual conferences, the Safety Committee offers workshops (3-hour or All-Day Sessions), on request, for Middle School and/or Secondary School science teachers across Ontario. A representative of the STAO Safety Committee is also available to visit the science laboratories of your secondary school(s) to conduct an independent safety audit of your facilities. A recent survey of 14 secondary schools in the Etobicoke Board of Education resulted in a complete chemical clean-up, and purchase of new safety equipment including cabinets and emergency lights.
