About Us - By-Laws

Article X: STAO/APSO Regional Areas

10.1 There shall be six (6) STAO Regions: Northern, Western, Central, Southern , Toronto and Outside Ontario.

  • 10.1.1 Region 1, the Northern Region shall include the counties: Kenora, Rainy River, Thunder Bay, Dryden, Algoma, Manitoulin, Sudbury, North Shore, Sault Ste. Marie, Espanola, Hornepayne, Cochrane, Nipissing, Hearst, Parry Sound, Timiskaming, Muskoka, Kapuskasing, Timmins, Kirkland Lake.
  • 10.1.2 Region 2, the Western Region shall include the counties: Elgin, Essex, Huron, Kent, Lambton, London, Middlesex, Brant, Bruce, Grey, Oxford, Perth, Waterloo, Wellington, Haldimand, Norfolk, Wentworth, Regional Municipality of Niagara, Welland, Lincoln, Hamilton;
  • 10.1.3 Region 3, the Central Region shall include the counties: Dufferin, Halton, Peel, Simcoe, York, Haliburton, Durham, Victoria;
  • 10.1.4 Region 4, the Eastern Region shall include the counties: Frontenac, Hastings, Leeds and Grenville, Lennox and Addington, Northumberland and Newcastle, Peterborough, Prince Edward, Lanark, Prescott-Russell, Renfrew, Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry, Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton;
  • 10.1.5 Region 5, the Toronto Region shall include the Toronto District School Board.
  • 10.1.6 Region 6, all areas outside of Ontario
10.2 Those members who reside in Region 6 will not be represented by a Regional Councillor.
